  • IMPROVED Energy Telecom Bug Report Class 1/4/18

    1/8/2018 Energy-Telecom Bug report by Olga Grib

    1. No field with default input focus.
    2. Section "Contact Information" has illigocal TAB order. When in field "First Name", the cursor moves to "Referred by", then to "Last Name".
    3. Section "Contact Information". Field "Email" is marked with "*" as a required field. When the form is submitted incorrectly, Email is not in the list of the required info.
    4. When the form is submitted incorrectly, "*" symbol by field "Email" changes color to blue while all others stay red.
    5. Section "Contact Information". "Referred by" is not marked with "*" as a required field. After incorrect form submission, the system lists this field as a requirement for correct submission.
    6. Section 1. Fields "Current Provider" and "Months left on contract" have no "Other" option
    7. Section 1. Field "Number of phones on plan" goes up to 100 before "More" option
    8. Section 2. Fields "International calls included" and "Long Distance included" end with a "?" instead of ":".
    9. Section 2. "Long distance included" is missing the word "calls".
    10. Section 7. Field "Gas and Electric Services" has a spelling error with "opento" instead of "open to".
    11. Section 8. Field "Comments" is unnecessarily expandable.
    12. All sections. In the field "Current provider", the drop-down menu's default value says "Select One" while all other drop-down menus' default values say "Select".

    Gui test for energy telecom
    1: Miss spell on Gas and electrical services section. I am open to needs to be fixed because it says I am “opento”
    2: Contact information section “Best way to contact me”. Need to change it so only the first letter is capitalized not so every word is
    3: When page opens up or is refreshed and loaded. The user has to click the first text box they want to write in. There is no default text box to type into.
    4: When you start to type in “First Name” text box and press tab to go to the next default text box it goes to the “Referred By” text box, fix so the default Tab order to go to “Last Name” next
    5: Contact information “me” select box, when you press tab to go to the next default section it skips over the “Referred By” text box
    6: When typing in “Referred By” text box and press Tab to go to the next default text box it goes to the “Last Name” text box, fix so the default Tab order to go to “Select One” drop down push box in the Cell Phone Service section
    7: In the Local/Long distance section when you click on the internet push circle (check box) and press tab to select the next default option instead of going to TV or both its skipped over
    8: In the Local/Long distance section when you click on the “International calls”, and click on the “yes” push box and tab by default it doesn’t Tab to the “no” push box
    9: In the Local/Long distance section when you click on the “Long distance included?” and click on the “yes” push box and tab by default it doesn’t Tab to the “no” push box
    10: In the Local/Long distance section when you click on the “I am interested in Unlimited Calling” and click on the “yes” push box and tab by default it doesn’t Tab to the “no” push box
    11: There is no way to deselect the push boxes in section 2 once you click on “yes” or “no” they are selected till page is refreshed.
    12: High speed internet service section when selecting “type of service” “Cable” push box and you Tab to go to the next default option and it skips over “Dial-up” and “DSL”
    13: TV Service section when selecting “bundled with” “Internet” push box options and you tab to go to the next default option and it skips over “Phone” and “Both”
    14: If user pushes “Submit” push box and email section is not filled out in the contact information section it doesn’t consider it as not filled out. Even though it is required.
    15: In Cell Phone User section when selecting current providers there is no “Other” option to select
    16: When in the comments section and a user types. If there is to much text the site becomes unresponsive and you have to close the site or refresh it to have it work again. There should be a limit to how much text can be written so the application can be submitted.
    17: when to many words are in the comments section the and the user tries to scroll up or scroll down, if the site is still trying to finish typing all the words into the text box the entire web page zooms in or zooms out scaling the entire web page
    18: After a while after overloading the comment section with close to 2 million words a default “refresh page because page has become unresponsive” pops up to fix the issue
    19: If you wait for web page to finish loading and inputting words into the comment text box and you keep putting words into comment section the site stops and an error message pops up saying “error 17896 – invalid data request. Call or request technical support or restart your computer”
    20: After the error message “error 17896 – invalid data request. Call or request technical support or restart your computer” pops up after inputting to many words in the comment section and refreshing the site doesn’t come up and says “is unavailable”, user has to close site and open a new tab up to reapply
    21: In the contact information section when picking a state in the select push box the other choice isn’t last. Instead it is in alphabetical order so its in the “o” section
    22: In the contact information section in the “First name”, “Last Name”, “Address”, “City” and “Referred” by sections user may inputs numbers or characters into the text boxes
    23: In the contact information section in the “First name”, “Last Name”, “Address”, “City” and “Referred” by sections user may inputs numbers or characters into the text boxes and if user pushes “submit” the form is accepted
    24: There is no limit of numbers to be put in the “Zip code” text box.
    : In the “Zip code” text box user is able to put letters
    25: If user inputs all false data in the “contact information” section and a real zip code and picks a state the information is accepted even if in all of the text boxes numbers were written at random
    26: User is able to input letters in the “My monthly bill is approximately:” text box in Cell Phone Service section
    27: “submit” and “clear” push box should be same height
    28: Contact information section, in drop down push box should have 50 states
    29: Contact information section, in drop down push box BC is not a state
    30: Contact information section, in drop down push box Hawaii should be listed with “HI”
    31: Contact information section, in drop down push box Nevada should be listed with “NV”
    32: Contact information section, in drop down push box “other” should be the last option
    33: Contact information section, in drop down push box Indiana should be listed with “IN” instead of “IND”
    34: All push boxes like “yes”, “no”, “HDTV” and “DVR” should be a circle or square

      Bug Report 1.
      Control of "Submit" button should be disabled.
      We can push Submit button even with empty required fields.

      Bug Report 2.
      That Web page doesn't have Default button.
      After filling out all text fields and pressing Enter, nothing happens.

      Bug Report 3.
      Tab order isn't met.
      While pressing TAB key, Left->Right and Top->Bottom rules are not followed.

      Bug Report 4.
      "Submit" and "Clear" buttons have different size and text font.

      Misspelled sentence "I am opento using different provider" in Section 7 "Gas and Electric Services".

        IMPROVED:
        Energy-Telecom Bug Report

        Bug Report 1:
        Title: The TAB Order Is Not Consistent
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Select and input the first name, next to the "First Name" field.
        3. Press TAB once
        Expected Result: Once pressed TAB key, the cursor should have moved to "Last Name" field, and allow the user to input their last name.
        Actual Result: Once pressed TAB key, the cursor moves to "Referred by..." field.

        Bug Report 2:
        Title: "State" List Box Contains "Other"
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Select "State" tab
        3. Scroll down the state until "other" is reached
        Expected Result: Have all states to be listed under "State" tab.
        Actual Result: The "State" tab contains "other" on its state list.

        Bug Report 3:
        Title: Misspelling of "open to..."
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Scroll down to Section 7
        3. Notice the last line of Section 7, there's a spelling error with "opento" for "open to"
        Expected Result: Have the webpage free of any typos.
        Actual Result: Misspelling of "open to" with "opento".

        Bug Report 4:
        Title: Cellphone Provider Tab Should Have More Providers
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Scroll down to Section 1
        3. Select "Current Provider" listing
        4. Look at the providers, list top main providers
        5. Set "other" selection tab
        Expected Result: Listing of top 5 cellphone providers to be selected, and at the very end of the selection provide "other" option for other lesser known providers.
        Actual Result: The tab only has the listing of four providers.

        Bug Report 5:
        Title: "First Name" and "Last Name" Accepts Numerical Values
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Under "Contact Information", select "First Name" and input your name and random numbers
        3. Repeat the same step with the "Last Name"
        Expected Result: Being able to input only letters to prevent any future user errors.
        Actual Result: Allows the user to input any key into the blank field.

        Bug Report 6:
        Title: No Confirmation Email
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Fill out the whole form
        3. Check email for completion confirmation mail
        Expected Result: Receive confirmation mail from "Energy-Telecom".
        Actual Result: No mail received.

        Bug Report 7:
        Title: Unnecessary Information Requested (HDTV and DVR)
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Scroll down to Section 4
        3. Examine "I currently have..." check boxes
        Expected Result: Not having "HDTV" as an option.
        Actual Result: Contains "HDTV" check box
        //Why would you include HDTV selection if it's a cable service, any kind of TV could be applied.

        Bug Report 8:
        Title: Contradicting Check Box Selection
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Scroll down to Section 1
        3. Examine the "I am happy with my current provider" and "I am open to using different provider"
        Expected Result: Only be able to select one out of the two choices, so the statements wouldn't contradict themselves.
        Actual Result: Allows both statements to be selected.

        Bug Report 9:
        Title: Over Complicated Selection Bar
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Scroll down to Section 1
        3. Examine "Number of phones on plan", allows user to select up to 100 phones.
        Expected Result: Allow user to input their own number, instead of selecting it.
        Actual Result: The user is able to select the number of phones, but it is displayed in an unorganized matter.

        Bug Report 10:
        Title: Provide Correct State Abbreviations
        Steps: 1. Open the webpage
        2. Select "State" bar under "Contact Information"
        3. Observe the states' abbreviations
        Expected Result: Display correct state abbreviations in an alphabetical order.
        Actual Result: Incorrect state abbreviation and not in an alphabetical order.

          "Local/Long Distances/International Service" section: Tab key doesn't follow the rule "left-right" in "International calls included?" field.
          Tab box moves from answer "Yes" to another answer "Yes" on the next line

          "High Speed Internet Service" section: Tab key doesn't follow the rule (left-right) in "Type of service:" field
          Tab moves from "Cable" to "Wireless Aircard".

          Report 3
          "Contact information" section: First and Last name fields accepts invalid keys (:"><) when enter them and push "Submit"

          Report 4
          "Contact information" section: Programm accepts "E-mail" field not filled out while web page is displayed it is required field.
          Steps 1. Open web page
          2. Fill out all required fields except "e-mail" field
          3. Push submit
          Actual result: web page accepts if "e-mail" field stays empty.

            IMPROVED "Energy telecom" Bug report

            #1. TAB Order doesn't follow the rule Left-Right/Top-Bottom. Instead of going to "Last Name" field it goes straight to "Referred by" field.
            #2. There is no default inputs focus.
            #3. In section 7: Field "Gas and Electricity Service" has a spelling error with "Opento" instead of "Open to".
            #4. States names in the "State" listbox are not in alphabetical order - starts with "B" instead of "A".
            #5. "Months left on current contract" field has only 10 months instead of 12.
            #6. "State" field has an option "other" which should not be required.
            #7. "Contact information": ZIP box excepts alphanumeric values while it should only digits.

              Improved "Energy Telecom" Bug Report
              1. On the page is missing field with default input focus.
              Step to reproduce:
              - Open the webpage http://www.energy-telecom.portnov.com/qa/
              - There is no required default input focus
              2. Section “Contact Information”: the "rule Left-Right/Top-Bottom" doesn't work. After filling “First name” field and push “TAB” button - the cursor moves to “Referred by” field instead “Last name” field. On next step cursor moves from “Referred by” field to “Last name” field.
              3. Section “Contact Information”: “First name” field mustn’t accept any characters except letters.
              4. Section “Contact Information”: “Last name” field mustn’t accept any characters except letters.
              5. In field “State” there are 3 extra states (BC – is not state of USA it’s Canada province, IND instead IN, unknow -OTHER),
              6. In field “State” missing two states NV and HI.
              7. In “ZIP” field mustn’t accept any characters except numerals.
              8. Field “Email” isn’t executed as required in form.
              Step to reproduce:
              - Open http://www.energy-telecom.portnov.com/qa/index.php.
              - Leave all fields blank.
              - Push “Submit” button at the bottom of page.
              - there is no required message “Please enter your Email address”.

              9. “Clear” button at the bottom of the page doesn’t work. There is a system message in Windows 10, & Browsers Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
              Text of the message: “Error 17896 – Invalid data request. Please call technical support or restart your computer!!!”

                  1. When we start it will be better to have default input focus in the field “First name”.
                  2. Tab order isn’t organized logically (left->right). When focus in the field “First name” and we press button “Tab”, focus have to shift to “Last name”, but it shifts to “Reffered by”.
                  3. Tab order for radio button isn’t organized left->right. When focus in “YES” and we press button “Tab”, focus have to shift to “NO”, but it shifts to “YES” on next line.
                  4. Button “Submit” is bigger than button “Clear”. They should be the same.
                  5. Block “TV service” -> field “Current Provider”: all records must be arranged in the sequences of the alphabet.
                  6. Block “Contact information” -> field “State”: all records must be arranged in the sequences of the alphabet.
                  7. All labels have to be in the same style. In some of labels every word begins with a capital letter (“Best Way to Contact Me”), but in some of them only first word begins with a capital letter (“Type of service”).
                  8. All labels should end up with the colon (: ). Labels ” International calls included?” and “Long distance included?” end up with the question (?).
                  9. The field “I currently have:” should be organized with the radio buttons instead of the check boxes.
                  10. All check boxes should be placed on the page the same. Most of them are flush left, but one placed in the center (“ Wireless Aircard”)

                      3. "Best Way To Contact Me" should be align to be shown in one line

                      5. "Other" section should be added to "Current Provider" list box in 1. Cell Phone Service
                      6. Click on "Clear" button leads to error message
                      7. Tab order is incorrect, should be from left to right then down

                            #4. Selection 2. In data input field "My monthly bill is approximately: $" can be inputted letters instead of only numbers

                            #5. Selections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. It is not logical that the "My monthly bill is approximately:" edit box can be edited up to $99999999999
