  • Online Class October 13, 2020, "Find" dialog box for Notepad TCs

    In class by Mikhail:
    Requirements:
    1. user can search down
    2. user can search up
    3. search can be case sensitive
    4. search can be case insensitive
    5. the found string gets selected
    6. multiple occurrences of same string ("find next" button)
    7. "cannot find ..." message provided when needed
    8. default value provided (most recently searched string)

    + additional requirements:
    9. “Wrap around” check box is checked => search goes through the text over and over.
    10. “Wrap around” check box is not checked => search stops at the end of the text (up or down, depends on direction choice) and the message “Cannot find “string” is shown.


    Test Cases in class by Mikhail:
    1. Search down/no match
    2. Search down/match case
    3. Search up/no match
    4. Search up/match case

    + additional TCs:
    5. No text is shown in “Find what” field when open the “Find” dialog box the first time.

    6. Empty field “Find what” => button “Find next” is disabled.
    7. Input a letter into “Find what” field => button “Find next” is enabled.

    8. Existing string / no match / wrap around => string gets selected if there is a case difference only.
    9. Existing string / match case / wrap around => string gets selected if it's a full match (??? - may be covered by previous TC).
    10. Existing string / match case / wrap around => string is not selected if there is a case difference only + message “Cannot find “string” is shown.
    11. Non-existing string / no match / wrap around / search down => message “Cannot find “string” is shown (??? Is another TC for search up needed?)

    12. Existing string (multiple) / no match / wrap around => selected string moves through the text from one location to the next while pushing “Find next” button.

    13. Existing string / no wrap around / search down => search stops on the bottom and message “Cannot find “string” is shown.
    14. Existing string / no wrap around / search up => search stops on top and message “Cannot find “string” is shown.
    15. Existing string / wrap around / search down => search continues.
    16. Existing string / wrap around / search up => search continues.
    17. Previous text is shown in “Find what” field when open the “Find” dialog box.
