Explain Performance Testing?

DEFINITION:
Testing performed to determine how a system performs in terms of responsiveness and stability under a particular workload

• looking for system to slow down under specified load
• not limited to any part of the system (we look at the entire system performance)
• load could measured in Number_of_transactions OR Number_of_users
• the load is taken within the normal usage limits
• the length of performing under the load might be important

REMEMBER:
Load and Stress testing are the instances of Performance Testing
