My name is Anna, manager by education (got my masters from a top school in St. Petersburg in Russia), photographer and entrepreneur by trade. My meticulous approach to everything, attention to details and hard working nature, prompted my software developer friends to push me to change my career to software testing. At first I was sceptical, but after a few YouTube videos I realized that's really the world I would love to spend my life in. I want to learn from the best, hence my choice of Portnov School. Super excited to be here and hope this will be a start of a long lasting career

Hello, my name is Alex. I took general classes in college for a couple of years, but then I quit because it was getting too expensive plus I didn't really know what major to go with. Now I work in the construction field, which I am not a big fan of. That is probably the main reason for a career change. I chose QA because I know some people who work in IT and they really like it. They have more freedom and the ability to work from home too., Seems like QA is a popular topic online nowadays, so I guess it helped me to choose this profession as well. I will do my best to become a good professional QA tester, and hopefully, by the five-year mark, I will achieve success.

                - Hello, I'm Grigori, originally from Estonia, now I live in Finland. I have not completed secondary education, I have not completed a construction technical school by profession: a welder, a fitter, a plumber.
                - In Estonia, I worked for 1 year in a security company (customer service), about 4 years in roof construction, about 9 years in plumbing work.
For the last 7 and a half years I have been living and working in Finland (in the field of customer service). Here I work 1 year 3 months in a charter taxi (transportation of schoolchildren, disabled people), 1 year 3 months in a taxi for the disabled and after almost 5 years and to this day I work as a city bus driver in the capital region of Finland in a large international Scandinavian company.
Since mid-2015, I am a blogger on YouTube.
                - I decided to change my profession, because I don’t see where to grow further in my current profession and I want to try myself in QA. I want to learn an interesting and serious profession where you have to work with your head.
                - In 5 years I would like to work in automated testing, maybe even in California.

My name is Svitlana, I am originally from Ukraine. In 2008 I graduated from Kyiv Medical University as a dentist and had a successful practice until 2015. In 2015, I moved to Taiwan where my husband got a job. In Taiwan, I studied Chinese language and do a volunteer job. After the end of my husband's contract, we moved to Canada just a few months before the COVID pandemic.
Since my dentist diploma is irrelevant in Canada, I started to think what I will be doing when businesses back to normal. Life itself gave me a clue. The city where I live is home for many IT companies. Besides, I was always curious about innovations and how technologies come to our life and make it easier. I started to study the job market and learned about QA engineering job that requires skills that resonate with my character, namely, attention to details, accuracy, and concentration. So, I found an online school with good references, finished it, and got a diploma of tester.
In 5 years, I see myself as a professional that accomplished a variety of interesting projects. I would have hands-on experience with multiple testing tools. All of these will allow me efficiently to meet any challenge and make me a valuable asset for the company. The title of the position wouldn't matter, as soon as I will be enjoying my work and the team I work with.

Hello my Name is Nadia. I have a bachelor's degree in Business and I started and masters degree in Data Analytics. Most of my career, I worked with customers in the financial field, travel industry and in medical office settings. My roles included account manager, customer relations, office manager and executive assistance. in all of these roles I have to work with different software systems such as sales force and I often faced major bugs in the way that were delaying productivity. Since I am computer savvy, I was always asked to figure out what causes the issues and report in as a bug to the IT team. This is where my curiosity for QA grew and I decided that this is where my passion is at and I want to learn a more about it and specialize in QA. In 5 years I see myself completing my master degree and becoming a senior data QA analyst specialized in test automation.
