Hello! My name is Ainur, I have a bachelor’s degree in IT, but I haven't worked in my specialty before.

I previously had my own business and worked as a sole proprietor.

My family and I moved to America almost 3 years ago and I have no work experience here as I have to run a household with 3 children, but I found a great opportunity to combine my development and getting a new profession and to use my degree for its intended purpose by learning and analyzing job opportunities from home.

I have long heard about Portnov school, and about QA, and that it is a starter and more or less affordable entrance to the IT sphere and I want to try it.

In 5 years I see myself as a project manager and a self-sufficient woman who realizes her potential and opportunities!

My name is Lena. I have Master’s in International Relations from Ukraine. In addition, I completed teaching certification from Caldwell University. For the past 5 years, I have worked in Elementary Education. I have been teaching various subjects to elementary school students. One of the subjects I really enjoyed teaching is Robotics and coding. Regardless of my education and work experience, I was always passionate about IT. I learned Photoshop during my free time and mastered some other programs. In general, IT was always my dream profession. So, it was natural for me to research formal education in this area and switch to full time IT work. In 5 years, I see myself working in the field I love and continue my professional development in this field.

I was always interested in IT but was afraid that it is not for everyone. I realized that I like to be in the lifestyle of everyday learning and that's what IT does for me. After I tried different branches of IT I was most interested in QA because of diversity and relatively simple work. When I was starting my study the YouTube was the main source of information and my friend which is working as a Sr. QA was mentoring my study. Now I have over 2 years of experience in QA. In 5 years I see myself as a Sr. QA Team Lead

My name is Zuzana and I am from the Czech Republic.
I graduated high school and then attended university only for a while so I do not have a degree.
I ve been living in the states for the past 7 years.
I have 10 years of experience with copywriting (in Czech language), two years of experience in tech customer support (USA) and for the past three years I have been involved in real estate. None of these carriers have satisfied me enough and, so I am hoping to get my financial as well as personal freedom and self confidence back by learning a new exciting professional skill.
I honestly chose QA mainly because its accessibility as a career even for people with no degree and of course the interesting payoff. Also after watching some of the James Bach's videos, I believe its going to be a good match for me since I love to always keep learning new things and tend to get bored pretty easily by repeating the same stuff.
In 5 years, I see myself much richer than now and much more self independent than now. Owning my own property and also leading a small team in QA would be awesome.

My name is Nikolay. I have university degree in Economics and Engineering. After graduation I started my career in an International Trade Company. Before I moved to Costa Rica, I used to work ten years as a manager of the foreign trade department. I was responsible for the quality of goods, purchased from China, planning, data’s analyzing, verifying and preparing technical specifications and requirements and problem solving. I liked my job, but I felt like I wanted to change my career. The circumstances made me moved to Costa Rica. It was a great opportunity to start a new career. I definitely wanted to work in IT, so I took CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) training, where I’ve met a lot of new friends. One of them is working remotely as a software QA engineer for the US company, and his company was looking for QA engineer. I always had a passion for quality. My previous job experience, knowledges of Network, strong attention to details, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills helped me to get my first job as a QA engineer. I really like my new career and what I do. I took online SQA advanced training course to be more professionally and to grow up as a software QA engineer. It is my long-term commitment. I want to be someone who makes the difference in software testing.

My name is Pauna Kiricheva. I was born in Bulgaria, but raised in the States. I went to Ryder University and studied Economics, then switched to community college to pursue paralegal studies. Not impressed by either field, I moved to Chicago to find myself. From being a music artist, to running a pizzeria, to working as an independent contractor, to then finally settling as a dispatcher in a trucking company, I have plenty of experience under my belt. Difficult people and situations are my middle name. I have learned how to assert my skills from all the experience I have acquired over the years into every aspect of my life, which include multi tasking, paying attention to detail, as well as working efficiently under pressure and being a team leader. A friend of mine mentioned Portnov School and spoke very highly of it sparking my interest in IT and the possibilities this field could offer me. In five years I see myself as a force to be reckon with, hopefully making a difference in the job field one way or another. I am looking forward to being able to work from anywhere in the world remotely, which excites me tremendously. I believe being consistent, open minded and a hard worker are qualities that surely will help me succeed.

My name is Iryna. Back in Ukraine I graduated with bachelors degree in international economics and have worked as a branch manager in a bank. Created an environment that delivered an exceptional experience for customers as well as trained and mentored employees. After moving to USA I pursued my dream and became a hairstylist. I love what I do , but I have reached my limits , as far as career growth. I chose IT because it is very promising profession and has huge variety of career options. My goal is to enter QA field as a manual tester and grow professionally , perhaps QA Automation or project management.

I graduated bachelor's in Finance and Credit stream from Financial University under the government. In the second course at University, in parallel, I started working in IT company as an intern. I made various reports to the customer with application indicators in Excel and PowerPoint. I made video guides for the users (I created scenarios, recorded them with a girl, then edited the video). Then I learned about the possibility of automating the creation of reports on VBA. I automated all reports. All reports were created with a single button instead of hours of manual labor. After some changes in the company, my chiefs offered me to go on another project as an analyst. Besides creating requirements, communicating with the customer, and creating tasks for the developers, I started programming in Python and a little bit of javascript. In Python, I have created many functions related to access restriction and business workflows. Also, in addition to work, I once helped the medical office during covid-19. I wrote a python script using selenium and webdriver that accepted an array of contract IDs, then parsed them from the medical portal, logged into the payment system, and sent the invoice for payment to the mail. Also, for convenience, I made a telegram bot with this script and published it on Heroku hosting for constant availability and easier use.

After a few years of work, the customers wanted to hunt me, but the counteroffer in my current company was better. They gave me more flexibility in my movement and a better position. I started being the team lead of system analysts. I have 11 analysts on my team. I continue to work as an analyst on a customer's project and be a team leader in the current company. After mobilization, I went to Turkey to take a temporary residence permit. So, I disagree with politics in Russia, and for my opinion and statements, I may be imprisoned or sent to war, so I want to change my profession as soon as possible and be independent of the Russian currency. At the same time, the government introduces laws to take away personal property from those who have left the country.

I think QA is the fastest way to switch my profession as an analyst because I have experience in software testing as a user and developer. This profession is close to me because I always see mismatches, want to fix them, and every time want to automatize something.

I think, In close five years, I will be the QA team leader at minimum.

My name is Marsel. I graduated from USPTU in 2018 and have a master's degree in chemical engineering.
After graduation, I started my career in a petroleum refining industry and have had a diverse experience of working in that industry.
To my mind, it was a really fascinating and challenging path, however everything has dramatically changed at some point. Therefore, I decided to make my dreams come true and start a career in IT.
Actually, I regard an entire IT sector as an extremely interesting industry and QA testing has plenty of benefits to work in that sphere. For example, it's a convenient way to start a new career, new employes have competitive salary, QA testers can develop their proffesional skills in a variety of ways, etc.
I see myself being a qualified, sought after and experienced QA specialist in 5 years who is enjoying his work.
