  • My name is Katia. I have bachelor's degrees in psychology and environmental studies from University of North Carolina in Asheville and degree in social work from Belarus State University.

I have wide spectrum of interests in many fields and that is why changed career paths in the past easily in search of my passion. I work in airline business for the past 8 years and maintaining full time clerical work for US government in disability field.

While my current jobs are exciting and meaningful, I am ready to change my path and work with technologies rather than public. I have never thought that I would be "smart/good" enough to work in IT field until I was inspired by my friend who successfully finished Portnov's school and enjoying his job that he found shortly after the course. This is all very new for me, but I am determined to learn and succeed in testing.

In 5 years, I see myself mastered manual QA and proficient in automation. I am planning to work remotely so I can stay in other countries for prolonged period of time. I want to become one of the best in the field of QA and explore new field in analytics or start my own business in IT.

    • Hi. The name is... who cares anyway?

I've been studying biology at my state university and got a bachelor's degree in it before I moved to the US in 2005 as a student.
I've worked multiple jobs since then. I was selling life and health insurance until the economic recession of 2008.
After that, I was in the trucking business until recently.

Unfortunately, trucking takes way too much time (12–16 hours a day), and I don't have any spare time left for my family after my
long daily interstate trips. So it is time to change something.

I've chosen QA because I have quite a few friends who do exactly that, and also because this type of work allows for a remote approach,
which is perfect for my situation.

In 5 years, I see myself feeling comfortable at software QA to the point where I can do this job totally stress-free with a minimum effort and time investment
(2–3 hours a day at the most) and with a maximum return.

      • Hello!

My name is Nicolas, I'm 18 years old, and I live in California. I'm currently a senior in high school and I hope to land my first job as a QA engineer over the summer. I'm majoring in Computer Science and plan on working in AI or Software Development later down the road. I believe that working in QA is a very useful skill to have as a future developer, especially when working in large teams. I also believe that it will aid me in the process of internships and debugging during my time at school. Five years from now, I will likely be working on my master's in Computer Science or Computer engineering.

          • Hello, my name is Alexander. I am 36 years old.
I currently hold a bachelor's and a specialist's degree in ecology and environmental protection. I started my career at the age of 15. The real reason for the changes is the war. Why software testing? I was thinking about it for several years until I moved to the US and saw a real opportunity in IT. And in 5 years I will be the owner of a beautiful house with a huge swimming pool, and my children will study in the best schools...
