I had a long planned to change careers and my move due to the war made it happen. Why QA? Because I like to work at the computer and I like everything to be perfect. I see myself in 5 years as a good professional on a management position.

*My name is Alona and I am from Ukraine, Kharkiv city.

*I have not completed higher education in management of organizations in the field of tourism. I am worked in my life starting from the cashier at the checkout, ending with the owner of my own business. In any place I managed to achieve professional heights.

*Considering the specialty in which I plan to work now, I have a similar experience. I was engaged in the promotion and content of the web page of the organization in which I worked. It turns out that I worked on the other side, and now I will work on finding errors on web pages.

*Why am I changing QA profession? I completely changed my life, starting with the fact that we changed the continent on which we live as a family. I see prospects in this profession and I am always open to new knowledge, why not try?

My name is Magdalina,

I have a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. My second education is in Marketing. My experience working in Metallurgical companies included studying the requirements of the quality of metallurgical goods for our customers, comparison analysis of prices and delivery terms. That's what prompted me to know marketing concepts and I decided to get an education in Marketing.

After receiving additional education, I worked in companies specializing in various types of product distribution. The most important aspect in this field is customer service. I lead all efforts dealing with understanding and application of industry standards in developed marketing strategies. In addition, I was responsible for improving efficiency in company's processes.

Throughout my work I had multiple opportunities to work closely with user application developers, participate in developing requirements for web applications and performing all user acceptance testing at the end.

When I came to California, I decided to become a QA engineer, because I had experience close to quality assurance testing and I would like to improve my skills. In the next 5 years I plan to become QA Engineer and eventually looking forward to becoming a QA lead/manager.

I received my masters degree in Eastern Studies from Chelyabinsk State University in 2005. Since 2011 I have been running an HVAC business as an owner operator. Although I like my job, it is physically demanding and taking a toll on my body. I am looking forward to a more mentally stimulating job. QA is very attractive to me in that matter. This career would also allow me to work remotely. In five years I see myself as a Lead QA Analyst in a gaming industry.

Moving to America is the best chance to change my profession, try myself in QA. In 5 years, I plan to improve my knowledge and become an Automation engineer in QA.

I have a master's degree in Economics, and I also graduated from college with a major in accounting.

I worked as a customs broker in an international company for 15 years.

I am changing my profession due to forced relocation due to the war. My work was interesting and wonderful, but not at all relevant in the United States. And I was always interested in IT professions. I thought that this is a great opportunity to expand this field of activity.

My name is Yulia Davis.

Studied Economics at Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering.

While studying at the university, simultaneously worked at the Department of Computer Science as a laboratory assistant. After graduating from University, worked as an engineer-economist at at the research institute "Atominform". My duties included: Budgeting - preparation of estimates for the work of the enterprise (semi-annual / monthly), analysis of performance, planning, controlling - tracking the implementation of the payment calendar, timely financing of production needs, the formation of a register of payments and a certificate of cash flow. Skills of searching for specialized information on the Internet, experience with various browsers (including Explorer, Opera, Chrome and others). Knowledge of the basics of working with Windows operating systems, basic office programs, text and graphic editors (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Photoshop). Skills of working with specialized systems 1C: Enterprise.

After immigrating to the United States, I learned and improved my knowledge of English language in a Community college. Took ESL English course as well as e creative classes as Digital Photography and Filmmaking. Learned digital image capture, image manipulation, drawing, page layout, and preparation of images for print, web or multimedia. Students develop creative projects using current graphics software.

I really like to study and work with various computer programs, so I would like to study computer testing and find a job in this field.

In 5 years, I see myself as an advanced specialist in computer testing.

In the past 8 years I have worked in various healthcare settings and specialties including oncology and psychiatrics.
While nursing is a wonderful career it can be physically and emotionally challenging . As I am seeking to better my life work balance I would like to explore alternative professional venues.
QA seems like a great start in tech industry. I am excited to learn new skills that are in high demand as much as I value the ability to work remotely even outside of USA if I choose so.
In 5 years I would like to see myself working successfully in tech industry while travelling the World and making time for creative hobbies.

Hi, my name is Elena. I graduated from the University in Russia and received a master's degree in Philology. Before immigration to USA I worked in international airline for 10 years, ground staff.
After immigration working for the airline was not considered by me due to the family circumstances and night shifts so I decided to discover a new field of activity and switched to Billing,
working as a biling specialist in one of Home care agency. After 2,5 years in that field I realized that there were no possibility for development for me and some radical changes were needed.
The whole situation in the world due to the pandemic showed that a man is more linked to the web applications than ever. The more applications, the more QA specialists are needed. One of my friend already worked in that field for several years and recommended to try QA school so I am here and hope to be useful in that field. In 5 years I hope to be well-experienced QA specialist with QA manager ambition.
