          • Hello! My name is Tetiana Laricheva.

I have a Master’s degree in German and English philology.

I worked as a teacher for over 10 years. I really enjoyed teaching, but someday I realized I wanted to try something else.

One of my students told me about the profession of a tester and I became interested in it. I started to learn more and more and in a couple of months I got to the training project "QA" at an IT company.

Then I became an intern and subsequently, a position of a tester. I worked as a tester for a year, but I had to leave it because my family moved to another country. Now I’m ready to continue my way in this profession, because there are almost limitless opportunities to develop, so many directions! In 5 years, I see myself as a professional in my field.

            • 1) I am currently pursuing my bacherlors in Computer Science
              2) Nothing IT related
              3) Nothing wrong with my profession, having this as the starting point in my career seems like a good stepping stone.
              4) I chose QA because I regularly try to find bugs in videogames or software that I use to get an advantage, why not get paid for it.
              5) I see myself working somewhere in IT

                • Hello my name is Boris.

I'm a pharmacist and I have more than 10 years’ work experience helping people to get their medicines and explaining them how to take it in the right way. I like my current job because there is no much of routine there - every day different situations or some kind of "tasks" that you have to solve in purpose to help your patients. And I think that a team in pharmacy looks like a team in an IT company because everybody has his owns bunch of tasks which has to be done.

Truth to tell, after my school graduation I wanted to study Computer Science and work as a Software Developer. I like to create new things, have a lot of ideas and I’m interested to work with new technologies. But because of some reasons I had to study pharmacy. There is no secret that sometimes a family has a strong impact on your future. But anyway I’m really happy of my first profession. It has many advantages – every time I can help myself, my family and friends if they have some problems with their health or questions about medicines and to speak with doctors in “the same language” is not a big deal for me anymore. So, a very useful skill for life.

Today I've been living in Germany for more than 5 years already. I had to learn a new language for that and it took about 9 months to get B2 Certificate of language knowledge in German from Goethe-Institute. After that it was needed to recognize my pharmacy education to be eligible to work here and it was necessary to understand how to get all documents and to be in touch with administrations in a new country without friends and family. So, it was a lot of hard work but I did all of that.

Now after I finished the QA course at Portnov Computer School I'm ready to move into IT branch. And I’m sure that QA is a great opportunity for that. It will let me to be a part of a new profession field where I can use all my personal and technical skills in purpose to make the Software more qualified.

Where I see myself in 5 years, so I'll definitely do automation tests, keep learning and improving my professional skills. And because of my experience as a team lead I could also confidently work as a
                  Senior Software Quality Assurance Manager.

                  • I'm an economist by education. After university graduation, I worked as supplier manager in a small trading organization. Also I was dealing with billing and banking.
Then my wife and I moved to America in New York. We needed money so started working both. After one year my wife started learning and I kept working. I worked at construction site then became a cable technition.
Now my wife is working and I don't have to work hard any more. So I decided to change my profession. I don't want to become an economist here in US because it's boring to me. IT sphere is more exciting. That was my plan from the beginning. QA because it's a challenge with every new progect.
In future I see myself as a high qualified specialist with cool skills.

Covid brought lots of changes in our lives, one of them is remote jobs. I think this is brilliant to work in the comfort of your own home.
Since my husband is a developer it always fascinates me how things are done on the other side of the screen and since I always been computer savvy I decided to give it try.
After couple of months of research - QA seams like a decent profession to start your career path in IT.
Planning to take automation QA course after finding my first QA job and then sky is a limit.

                              • My name is Elena. I have a BA degree in Investment Management and currently work at Tesla as an Operations and Sales Specialist. I have over 4 years of Sales and Delivery experience with Tesla and actively contribute to the achievement of the company. I gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the management field, as well as I am a great team player, however I got burnt-out of first -hand face to face customer support.Having to deal with dissatisfied customers and complicated scenarios on a daily basis is a job that is emotionally more grueling than most.

QA engineering is very appealing to me, because I enjoy IT culture and it has lots of room for growth and development. I am also a perfectionist, so making sure the quality of the product/service adhere to the company standards (requirements) is on my top priority. I have great communication skills, which I believe is very important in QA field. Success comes from the team, not from the individual alone – so it comes from a group of people who know how to use words carefully to convey what is needed throughout the development cycle. That is why I believe I can be a good fit for your QA team.

I’m someone who loves learning about new tech and trends, so in the next five years, I see myself as having established strong knowledge on what’s new in QA field, exceeding my QA experience and passing the skills to the new talents. I believe success and positively impacting others, play hand in hand.
